They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
Luke 24: 5-6
The stone covering Jesus’ tomb was at least 2,000 pounds, possibly even 4,000 pounds. And it had to be rolled up hill to clear the tomb’s entrance. Certainly the two Mary’s and Salome didn’t move it. So, who did?
You and I know that it was God. Through God, all things are possible. In God’s name, all things are possible. God moved the stone.
And, yet…
We forget this. Sure, we remember the story, but we forget the story’s true meaning and impact. We forget that the superhuman strength that moved the stone — God’s strength – is ours, thanks to Jesus’ resurrection.
Are you using your strength?
What 2-ton stone in your life are you ready to roll away, with God’s support?
Remember…
Give yourself permission to remember…
With God, all things are possible.
Blessings,
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. Galatians 2:20
I have never thought about who rolled the stone away. I’m sure I’ve heard the Easter story 300 times and this is a new thought to me. Your question though is one persistently on my mind.
