Servant leaders are passionate about building their personal performance. I read a lot of blogs to help me continually advance my performance and service to my clients. I have been asked a number of times recently to list my top 5 most influential leadership blogs?
That is a great question, in that there are days that I have to prioritize my reading to keep my schedule under control. But even on busy days, I will not miss reading my Top 5.
I thought it might be helpful to share this list for your development as well. If you are connected with me on either Twitter (@mwdeterding), LinkedIn (Mark Deterding), or Facebook (Triune Leadership Services) I will always re-publish articles I read that are especially focused on servant leadership. But if you are interested in a couple of leadership blogs to read on a consistent basis, I would recommend the following:
Ken Blanchard / How We Lead – Ken and his heart and passion for servant leadership has had a significant impact on my leadership. He is a genuine servant leader, and gifted communicator.
Chris Edmonds / Driving Results Through Culture – Chris was my personal coach for a number of years. He has developed an amazing system for implementing a purpose-driven, values-based culture within an organization. The results of the clients that he works with speak to the effectiveness of his work. I continue to learn a great deal from Chris on building intentional culture.
Randy Conley / Leading with Trust – Randy is the Trust Practice Leader for the Ken Blanchard Companies and has been named a Top 100 Thought Leader in Trustworthy Business Behavior by Trust Across America. As trust is such a key component of servant leadership, I find Randy’s writing extremely relevant to my development.
Mark Miller / Great Leaders Serve – Mark is the V.P. of Leadership Development with Chick-fil-A. He has authored numerous books on servant leadership and as a senior leader has put his practices of servant leadership to work to build a phenomenal culture at Chick-fil-A. I find Mark’s work on servant leadership spot on, and he has had a significant impact on my outlook on leadership.
Dan Rockwell / Leadership Freak – Dan’s Leadership Freak Blog has been the #1 most socially-shared leadership blog for the last three years. Dan has also been recognized on Inc’s Top 50 Leadership and Management Experts. I don’t know Dan personally, but I find his writing extremely impactful and relevant to servant leaders.
To help our entire community of readers, I would love to have you share your favorite blogs either in the comments section below or on Facebook. Where are you getting your information for your continued development?
I hope you have a great week of building your own personal performance and honing your leadership skills!
Mark
