Today everyone wants things right now. With the evolution of the Internet we can go online and instantly access a myriad of information, as well as shop for virtually anything.  We have grown accustomed to fast food, where we simply drive through to instantly get the food we want. We receive tweets that keep us instantly apprised of the weather and breaking news.

When it comes to servant leadership however, there are no shortcuts. You can’t take a pill to instantly become an effective servant leader. We have to put in the time and effort to understand our motivations and hone our skills.

Anything of significance takes time, and is definitely worth the effort. My purpose for Triune Leadership Services is to build a movement of servant leadership by awakening the hearts of leaders and equipping them to make a significant impact on the world.

Numerous leaders are stepping into the journey of servant leadership and they are making huge progress in building this movement. Entire companies are embracing the efforts to build a culture of servant leadership.

Steps they are taking to enhance effectiveness, as servant leaders include:

  • Prayer and discernment over what motivates them to serve
  • Clear articulation of their Leadership Point of View which includes their personal purpose and values
  • Becoming an effective listener
  • Becoming great at building relationships
  • Choosing to live out the behaviors of love such as patience, kindness, humility, respectfulness, selflessness, honesty, forgiveness, and commitment
  • Building trust
  • Becoming an encourager
  • Building passion for continuous personal and professional development and improvement
  • Showing vulnerability to consistently ask for feedback on their leadership journey
  • Having patience while they build their servant leadership competencies
  • Praying for guidance and wisdom on a daily basis as they travel the journey

The development of servant leaders that I have seen over the last 4 years has been remarkable. The impact they are having within their sphere of influence and beyond is changing the world in a positive way! It is also changing the environment in their organizations and leading to enhanced profitability.

If you are reading this blog you are on that journey. I appreciate your heart for servant leadership and applaud you for your intentionality towards becoming the best you can be for those you are serving. You are a blessing to the world!
