There is nothing greater than seeing leaders move from a learning mode to a teaching mode. True mastery of learning occurs when you start teaching and sharing your knowledge with others.

Triune Leadership Services is in the midst of our 7th year of Leadership Roundtable Groups. We serve leaders who have a passion and desire to be servant leaders and lead Jesus’ way. In our Advanced LRT Group we have 40 leaders, many of which have been involved all 7 years.

At each session of the Advanced LRT Group one of these seasoned servant leaders is sharing their journey of driving a culture of servant leadership at their organization. It is amazing how much can be learned from listening to live experiences from leaders who are intentional about servant leadership.

These leaders are multiplying other servant leaders, just as Jesus modeled during His time on earth.

Servant leaders share their knowledge!

Sharing your knowledge with others is an important step in your development. As you teach others, your proficiency as a leader will continue to advance. Moving into teaching mode can come with some trepidation, but as with everything important it needs to be done with some intention.

Transition to Teaching

Believe in Yourself

The first and most important step to transitioning to sharing your knowledge is to trust and completely believe in yourself. God has equipped you for such a time as this. Other people need to hear what you have to say. Your knowledge and experiences will greatly benefit the development of other leaders.

Prepare and Practice

If confidence is an important element to success as a teacher, an important key to confidence is preparation. There is no substitute for practice, practice, and practice. The more you practice the better you will be at sharing the content and points you want to make when teaching others.

Get Conversational

A great way to effectively deliver content that people will grasp is to make it conversational. Adult learners grasp concepts through stories and conversations they can relate to. Learning takes place in all settings as well, not just the classroom. Be cognizant of your ability to teach and share your knowledge in all situations.

Approach Everything With a Student’s Mind

As a servant leader you know that you don’t know it all. Balance your confidence with humility when sharing with others. See what you can learn while teaching and sharing with others.

Be Open and Ask For Feedback

As you became a proficient servant leader you were consistently looking for feedback. Don’t stop now that you are sharing your knowledge. Actively solicit feedback to continue to improve your effectiveness at teaching others.

Just Do It!

It is normal to have some trepidation about stepping into a teaching role. Just know the sooner you start teaching and sharing your knowledge, the more comfortable you will get in doing it, and the more positive impact you will have on this world!

Jesus clearly showed us how to develop leaders. He spent the last three years of His life intentionally teaching others how to be servant leaders and carry on after He was gone. He multiplied leaders.

It is now up to you. Transition as quickly as possible to sharing your knowledge of servant leadership with others. It is important and significant work!
