In last week’s article, we covered Your Purpose & Vision in the Eyes of God. In that, I touched briefly on embracing risk, but I think it’s something that we can take even deeper.

Your Vision and Risk

Not all risks are created equal. There are risks in this world that are not safe or beneficial. Discerning which risks you are called to, takes understanding of the purpose and vision God has given you. If it isn’t clear, ask God to provide you with guidance to know where and when to go. Once He has made it clear how you should proceed, you must move in faith.

Risk and Faith

The secret to following through and stepping into the risk needed to achieve your vision lies in faith. Your faith will provide the necessary strength to achieve great things! If you feel shaky and uneasy, lean into God and remember that He has called you to where you are and He will support you through it.

Jesus Lead the Way

To lead Jesus’ way is to not only believe in Jesus but just as importantly to believe like Jesus.  Jesus was a true model of having complete alignment between what He thought, what He said, and what He did.  “To believe” in Jesus is to listen carefully to what He says, accept it, commit to it and trust it — and then put it into practice completely and immediately — now and today.

Jesus leaned on His Father (God) throughout His life to carry Him through as He delivered on His God inspired purpose and vision. That is the example He lays out for you. He has invited you with open arms to communicate daily with Him through the study of scripture and prayer to enable you to achieve great things in your life and in His kingdom.

Your vision may seem beyond your reach, so depend on His strength. Know and understand that you cannot do it on your own but your faith in God’s strength, working through you, will make all things possible.

When God inspires your vision, He will answer your prayers when you call on him for courage to take appropriate risks to achieve that vision.

My Big Risk

I never considered myself an author, however at the end of September, I will have a book launching: Leading Jesus’ Way. I guarantee there is only one way this has come to fruition. It is only through the vision God placed within me, and Jesus working through me to provide the words to write, the team to help, and the strength to endure the 2 year process. This is not a risk I would have likely taken had God not called me to it, and provided me through. He can and will do the same for you.

Now is the Time

Is God tapping you on your shoulder to make a courageous move? Do you have a vision to do something really special that will impact people in a positive way and change the world for the better? What are you waiting for?

Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”  Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.” John 6:28-29
